Telma Viale
We built the artist website of Telma Viale, a Salvadoran-born singer of Brazilian music.
Telma Viale is a singer born in San Salvador and based in New York, devoted to Brazilian music. We built her artist website, where visitors watch her videos, listen to her music, read her journal and get in touch.
The challenge
Letting the music lead
Video and audio had to be the first thing visitors meet, not buried under text.
Telling a personal story
Her biography, collaborations and press quotes needed a warm, editorial tone that reads like her work.
Keeping the site alive
A journal for reviews, upcoming events and music history had to be easy to update between releases.
What we did
The home page opens with a full-screen photo slider and the artist statement, followed by her latest video, short Music and About sections and a preview of the journal. The Music page gathers videos, interviews and an embedded Spotify player.
The Gazette is a blog organized in categories (reviews, upcoming events, and Bossa Nova, Samba and MPB), and the About page tells her story with quotes from collaborators. A tinted photo header gives every page the same blue mood, and the site works on phones with a compact menu.
